Fishing For Cabbage
December 28, 2007
Here is a shockingly good version of Boil ‘em Cabbage Down on a banjo strung up with fishing line (he explains the fishing line thing in the video):
I just wish I knew more about this guy. All I have on him is a YouTube handle.

I think I’ll change all my strings to fishing line cos he sounds a lot better than I do.

Wow! This guy has totally bought into the concept of making do with what you have, and using something until there is nothing left. Who would have thought of learning to frail on a restrung guitar???

Banjopariah is a great down to earth guy, he is out there learning and sharing. I find encouragement watching other students having fun.

W O W ! With fishing line for strings and a strum like your’s and with such a short time at the banjo as you’ve said in previous posts, it makes me feel like my banjo has moved up to boat anchor status.
Good job Rebertone. Keep at it, you obviously have it together.
God Bless,

One of the best youTube vids I have seen, both for the tech expertise and his humorous asides…..I am going to fool around with that arangement!
Reckon I’ll forgo the fishing line though.
Post more of your vids, Rebertone…..and I hope we get a chance to jam sometime!!
(Like maybe at the April 3-6 Folk Music retreat in Crisfield)
