Iowa Flood

Some pictures of our Iowa Katrina as they are calling it. My home is in apart of the town on top of the bluff. If it got that high the world would be in trouble. These were taken Sunday. The river has not crested yet and is above record level.
The levee on the Illinois side broke this morning giving Burlington a little relief, but caused the city of Gulfport, Illinois to flood. Crest is expected Wednesday for this part of the Mississippi. What is amazing is even in disaster, with the loss of thier own property, Americans pull together and try to save the next town and properies. The fight continues, but the river is mighty.

My sister-in-law lives in Cedar Rapids and had to evacuate her house late last week. She was lucky they only got about 11″ of water in their basement.
