where to find empty cigar boxes
July 21, 2008
After the amazing cigar box ukuleles, the wonderful cigar box banjo and now Roger’s fantastic box banjo people are starting to ask me where to get cigar boxes.
After wasting a bit of time wondering why on earth people would assume I know where to get empty cigar boxes, I did a little bit of searching and came up with some resources in no time flat. The links were really long so I used tinyurl.com to make them more manageable.

Look around your local area or in the yellow pages and you can usually find a cigar shop. They will have tons of empty boxes that they will sell for a few bucks a piece. Sometimes if you tell them what you are using it for they will just let you have one.

I don’t have anything constructive about cigar boxes (save that cigar shops sell them). But as a rule, I never ever click on tinyurl links. It’s too easy to hide horrible images and web sites behind them that might scar you for life or get you fired or worse (you can’t unsee it!)
With HTML, you don’t need to shorten links anyway, you just put the link in the href attribute, and no one need worry about its length.
That’s my little pro tip of the day, filling in where I can.
