Just Banjo Today . . .

December 1, 2008

We are very busy today, so I did a quick bottleneck workshop on the Somerset S-4 Banjo.

The combo workshops will return just as soon as things calm down around here!

You need to put a Pete Seeger tyle long neck on that beauty, it’d be to the regular 5 sting banjo what a Baritone Guitar is to a regular guitar.

Love that slide sound Patrick. It is easier than it sounds. (But harder than it looks :)

By the way if it wasn’t for you, and my neighbor who loaned me her old Mastertone, I would have never discovered I could play. I owe you big.

    Thanks

Its funny how many people look at you like you’re crazy when you say blues and banjo in the same sentence. Much less when you say bottleneck blues banjo. But if they would just think for half a second, it all makes sense.

Love your lessons. When I hammer on third string, nothing comes out. 4th string, I get a little sound. Do I just have to toughen up my fingers or does that have something to do with the banjo?
