Building a Somerset Part V
February 1, 2009
Chris Via sent in some pictures to document how he shapes a banjo rim, cuts the rim for a tone ring, his jig for drilling the rim, applies finish to a rim and even how he rolls the tone hoops for the Somerset S-5.
Take a look at the amazing flamed maple on that banjo rim! Chris said that our latest batch of Cooperman rims were something special, but he didn’t say how special. That is going to be a beautiful banjo.

Hiya Patrick,
Here are a couple I tried writing. (I think making up new stuff is half the fun.)
The Fire of 1985 (Autobiographical)
May Fifteen (Nonsensical)
Lyrics, chords, and explanations are in the info sections. Feel free to take them and make ‘em better.
