Hi Patrick! Hope things go well with the hearing… :-S
Here is a very famous Australian folk song- waltzing matilda. I have figured out a way of playing it clawhammer. Was wondering if you had some ideas about other ways of starting it off (introductions) and endings for it. Also any ideas of other licks that would fit into it. And how would it be played “Up the Neck”?
I look forward to your advice- your teaching is phenomenal!

You play that damn well Jase, very nicely done. I’m glad I’m not the only weirdo who gives his instruments names.
Forgive the REALLY shameless plug, but come on over too http://ukfolkies.proboards.com It’s not only for UK people, we’re just stuck with the name is all.
Their’s already 1 over Auzzie their infact
Keep up the good work

Geez that’s freaky! This morning I woke up and thought I MUST get Waltzing Matilda going on the banjo. I head over to Tangiers and your video is right there.
That blew me away, mate. Not just for the serendipity, but it was well played, too. No doubt Pat could really bring something amazing to it, but it sounded great to these ears, had a lovely feel.
An Aussie in New Zealand says thanks. (aka, good on you)
Dan.

Wow… It was actually a huge surprise to see so much interest in this video. I’m glad everyone has liked it. I’m even happier that people are going to have a try of my arrangement.
I’m going to dedicate my youtube channel to Australian folk songs after seeing that some people are interested in banjo arrangements of them. After I have finished a couple of crazy assignments then I’ll get cracking on the next song (Across the Western Ocean).
Can’t wait till Patrick is better and able to give some advice on this! That guy is amazing…
Onya folks! Keep pluckin’

For the last few months, I’ve been trying to arrange the Queensland version of Waltzing Matilda for clawhammer. Same lyrics, but completely different tune. If you get the chance, check it out, should be on iTunes or the ‘Tube somewhere. It’s a really pretty song.
Best regards, Jase.
