July,

Sounds like the smack of a wooden screen door.

Smells like potato salad.

Looks sparkly.

Feels grass tickley, sweat dribbly, sticky, & drippy.

Tastes of fresh corn, watermelon & ice cream

Remembers lives given for our country

Is proud of the family that is America

Enjoys itself

Accepts sticky, hot, happy rambunctious children

Prays for all that serve and protect

Wears the colors of our flag

Wishes all children freedom, play, health and connection with home, family and faith.

Sings sincerely “God Bless America!”

Just beautiful. God has blessed this nation so, it is wonderful to hear expressions of our “essence” on this most important day for Americans. Let us never lose our appreciation for the gifts; or our applause for those who can remind us of them — thank you Miss Trudy!
