Mystery Bird
October 25, 2009
Things are a little crazy around here. Bill from Chicago is stopping by for a visit this afternoon (I made lasagna!) and tomorrow I have to go get an MRI of my knee.
I haven’t been taking a lot of pictures lately. My knee hurts too bad to hike around the salt marsh and I have become thoroughly disgusted with my cameras. The Fuji got dropped in the Bay one too many times so the focus has gotten funky and now the LCD screen is messed up. I have been using my Cannon A1000, but that one has had focusing issues since I got it. I know I need new camera, but it is frustrating to shop around because new cameras all come packed with automatic features that try to make all of the artistic decisions for me. I just want something simple, but simple is hard to find in 2009.
Anyway, I took the Canon with me to Brick Kiln this afternoon and got a couple of shots. Spotted a funny looking shorebird with a huge red beak. I don’t know what it was, but I had a ball watching it fly around the little dock.
See you all on Tuesday.

This is one of the latter.
