Aussie Frailer Update

October 27, 2009

Cedric sent us an update on his efforts to connect with other Australian banjo players:

Dear Patrick and Pat

Thanks very much for your help in getting together our list of Aussie Frailers.

So far, we number 14. That is one Aussie Frailer per 212,470.07 square miles.

When we do the complicated mathematics to break this down by gender, we find that we have been joined by exactly 0.00 (that’s zilch/nix/zero/none/nil) Aussie Female Frailers per 212,470.07 square miles.

Despite all of the nasty slurs about Aussie males being gender bigots, we really would like to welcome our Aussie female fellow frailers into the group.

We have all exchanged e-mail addresses, and have already thrown in ideas and distributed some tabs of Aussie traditional and convict songs and sea shanties.

Any further help that you could give us to bolster our figures, would be most appreciated.

We are all trusting that Patrick’s MRI, and treatment of his knee, go well.

With thanks and regards

Dedric: Please share the local folk songs with the world. You have a rich history and traditions.
    Thanks

    Will do, Howard.

It is one of our aims to eventually give something back to Daily Frail. We think that an Aussie Songbook, with songs of the sea in admixture with the feelings of convicts, and the swagmen, shearers and the like, might take the fancy of some Daily Frail addicts.
