Wildwood Flower

Hi Patrick,
I did a video playing Wildwood Flower with the wonderful Somerset S-5 (with S-2 tension hoop). I’m a beginner, playing banjo since January and never did any instrument before, so it’s not perfect, but it makes me a lot of fun to play it. Thank you so much for teaching me how to play banjo!

I like the syncopation in this one….at least, I think that is what it is called
And not to echo too much, but that is pretty impressive for such a short time playing!

Nice job. Now for bonus points, please explain to me what the lyrics to this song are about. I can’t figure them out.

Thanks to all for the nice and encouraging feedback! I will work on my skills without losing the fun.
Have a good time,
Werner

I have no idea what the lyrics are about. To quote a certain Mr Patrick Costello on “The How and Tao …”: “I have seen folk singers argue for forty-eight hours straight about the meaning of the lyrics to Wildwood Flower.”
